Dan is a creative fellow with both his words and his hands. Creative
writing and drawing have been a part of life since his youth.
Growing up in Brazil, South America, where his parents were missionaries,
he is fluent in Portuguese and also has a good understanding of and
is conversant in Spanish. His enjoyment of languages and international
communications fit well with his work as Translation Coordinator
and Multilingual Coordinator at International Planning, Inc. (IPI)
in Orlando, Florida. Communicating and coordinating with clients like
Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, translators, editors,
proofreaders, and publishers was one of the most exciting opportunities
he has had.
As a young teen on the mission field he taught those his age and
younger in Sunday school classes and has continued to serve
Christ and lead in youth, college, and adult Christian education
since. He has also been involved in preaching and leading worship
in song and Scripture reading, and other ministries in and outside
of the churches he has been a part of.
During college he did some independent outside sales and graphic
design work for a sign shop. He called on businesses and assisted
them in designing signs and banners. Also during college he enjoyed
creating designs and bulletin covers for college events. His Bachelor's
degree is in (Christian) church education.
While in the United States Air Force, stationed in Colorado, Dan
had the opportunity to design two proposed crew patches, the Delta
Ducks and the Charlie Cheetahs. It was a great pleasure of his to
be completely responsible for painting an approximately four foot
mural of his Delta Ducks design using oil media.
Classes in commercial art and graphic design have enhanced his freehand
and computer design abilities. He enjoyed Photoshop but became a real
fan of Adobe Illustrator. In the last several years Dan finished more
schooling with another degree in Web and Graphic Design. He particularly
has enjoyed Macromedia Dreamweaver for web design and has also used
it for creating e-books.
