Summary Statement of Faithof Daniel D. Goehring

1. I believe in one true and living God, “YHWH”, existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who is independent, eternal, personal, unchanging, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, holy, truthful, just, loving, merciful, and gracious.
2. The sovereign God has revealed himself and all that is necessary for salvation, life and godliness in the sixty-six books of Sacred Scripture that are the Word of God. All Scripture was given by inspiration of God, is infallible and inerrant, and is the final authority.
3. God created the heavens and the earth in six days. He is the source of all life and all that is good. He created Adam and Eve in his likeness on the sixth day. God made man perfect, but man rebelled resulting in humanity’s bondage to sin and eternal, just condemnation by God.
4. The Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, is the Son who took on human flesh, fully God and fully man. Jesus offered up his sinless life as atonement for sin to reconcile a people to himself, whom he did chose to love before the foundation of the world.
5. Jesus destroyed the power of Satan, sin, and death, having risen from the grave and ascended to the right hand of the Father where he has received his eternal and expanding Kingdom as the promised Seed of Abraham and the Root and Offspring of David.
6. Christ particularly governs the affairs of and works through his redeemed people, the church, who are the Israel of God. He has commanded his saints to go into all the earth as soldiers of righteousness and ambassadors with the gospel message of reconciliation and peace. The servants of the Divine King are his agents of influence and change for good in a corrupt world.
7. There is only one saving gospel in all eternity for all humanity. Jesus died, was buried, and on the third day rose from death to offer forgiveness, reconciliation, and life eternal with him. The gospel of peace requires that a person confess Jesus as Lord (Messiah/God in the Flesh), trust solely and completely in the redemptive work he has done once and for all, repent of his sins, and obey Christ.
8. The Holy Spirit restrains evil in the world. He convicts of sin, enlightens, enables, draws, regenerates, seals, empowers, teaches, counsels and sanctifies the elect. The Spirit gives differing gifts to the saints for the healthy growth of the body of Christ and for the work of the Kingdom.
9. At the last day Jesus Christ will return to raise the dead for judgment, both the righteous and unrighteous. The wicked will suffer everlasting punishment away from his presence and the righteous shall enjoy everlasting life with him.
